About Me

Hi! I’m Rowen Slepian, a senior at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in fiction writing with a minor in Linguistics and a certificate in Professional Writing. My primary professional focus is in contemporary fiction, but I am also skilled in copywriting, journalistic writing, literary analysis, memoir, and a number of fiction subgenres such as sci-fi, fantasy, and magical realism. Outside of academics, I serve as the president of the University of Pittsburgh’s Sigma Tau Delta chapter, where I cultivate a passion for English literature, writing, and composition through the organization of academic and social events, cultivating in attending and speaking at the Sigma Tau Delta Annual International Convention. Additionally, I work in Pitt’s Writing Center as a peer tutor, where I edit student work, ranging from first-year compositions to graduate theses, in all stages of the writing process from brainstorming to proofreading. In my free time I love to read, watch movies and play video games.
